Apatite-type SrPr4(SiO4)3O
Single crystals of the title compound, strontium tetra-praseo-dymium tris-(silicate) oxide, SrPr(4)(SiO(4))(3)O, have been grown by the self-flux method using SrCl(2). The structure is isotypic with the apatite supergroup family having the generic formula (IX)M1(2) (VII)M2(3)((IV)TO(4))(3)X, where M = alkaline earth and rare earth metals, T = Si and X = O. The M1 site (3.. symmetry) is occupied...
متن کاملNew Proposal for Co3 Position in B-type Carbonated Apatite
The crystal structure of two B-type carbonated apatite samples was re-analyzed, using the data of Wilson et al (2006). By applying the least squares method for the determination of carbon and oxygen atoms, a slightly different result was obtained, suggesting that the carbonate ion is not rigorously planar. Keywords Carbonated apatite, Carbonate, Xray diffraction.
متن کاملCrystal structure of apatite type Ca2.49Nd7.51(SiO4)6O1.75
The title compound, Ca2+x Nd8-x (SiO4)6O2-0.5x (x = 0.49), was synthesized at 1873 K and rapidly quenched to room temperature. Its structure has been determined using single-crystal X-ray diffraction and compared with results reported using neutron and X-ray powder diffraction from samples prepared by slow cooling. The single-crystal structure from room temperature data was found to belong to t...
متن کاملapatite, and titanite
[1] Recent calibration studies have expanded the range of target minerals suitable for cosmogenic He dating to include U and Th‐rich phases such as zircon, apatite, and titanite. These minerals often contain large amounts of radiogenic He that present several analytical challenges for precise and accurate He determinations. In this paper we document the abundance sensitivity and changes in the ...
متن کاملApatite Glass-Ceramics: A Review
This article is a review of the published literature on apatite glass-ceramics (GCs). Topics covered include crystallization mechanisms of the various families of apatite GCs and an update on research and development on apatite GCs for applications in orthopedics, dentistry, optoelectronics, and nuclear waste management. Most apatite GCs crystallize through a homogenous nucleation and crystalli...
